TLT-3
The TLT-3 is our miniature target locating transponder. It is quite small in size but still yields significant ranges. It's nominal range is 250 meters. This transponder is mostly used on small to medium ROV. It is also used with divers and can be mounted nearly anywhere on the diver (see manual for mounting techinques) because of its size. It runs off a 9 volt battery and holds a charge for 6 hours, on average.
VLT-1
The VLT-1 is a vehicle locating transponder and is suitable for use with larger ROV and deep ocean diving or any other submersible that will be at greater depths. Its nominal range is 1000 meters, which is four times that of the miniature transponder. It is quite larger and weighs a bit more, but yields a significant range difference. The internal batteries, under high-powered mode, last about 6 hours. In the normal mode, they last about 12 hours.
